Use Only a Veterinarian-Prescribed Dose

This tool performs the weight-based arithmetic only. It does not contain dosing information for any specific medication -- the mg/kg figure must come from your veterinarian, who has evaluated your pet's health, the specific drug, and any other medications involved.

How It Works

This tool multiplies your pet's weight by the dose per kilogram your veterinarian has prescribed, then optionally converts that total dose to a liquid volume using the medication's concentration.

Total Dose (mg) = Weight (kg) × Dose (mg/kg)
Volume (mL) = Total Dose (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/mL)

It intentionally does not include any drug-specific dosing table, since safe dosing depends on the exact medication, its concentration, and your pet's individual health -- information only your veterinarian has.

Calculations follow the NRC RER/MER methodology, aligned with WSAVA & AAHA guidelines.
