How It Works
This tool multiplies your pet's weight by the dose per kilogram your veterinarian has prescribed, then optionally converts that total dose to a liquid volume using the medication's concentration.
Volume (mL) = Total Dose (mg) ÷ Concentration (mg/mL)
It intentionally does not include any drug-specific dosing table, since safe dosing depends on the exact medication, its concentration, and your pet's individual health -- information only your veterinarian has.

Does this calculator tell me what dose to give?
No. This tool only does the arithmetic for a dose your veterinarian has already prescribed in mg per kg -- it does not contain any drug-specific dosing data. Never use a generic mg/kg figure found online to medicate your pet; always use the exact dose your vet prescribes.
Why won't you list doses for common medications?
Safe dosing depends on the specific drug, its concentration, your pet's species, health conditions, and other medications they're taking -- factors only a veterinarian examining your pet can properly weigh. Publishing generic dose tables risks serious harm if misapplied.
How do I convert a dose to a liquid volume?
If your medication is a liquid, check the label for its concentration (e.g. 50 mg/mL). Enter the total dose in mg and the concentration to get the volume in mL to draw up or measure.
What should I do if I'm unsure about a dose?
Call your veterinarian or an emergency vet clinic before giving any medication you're unsure about. If you suspect an overdose, contact your vet, an emergency animal hospital, or a pet poison control hotline immediately.
